Armed with “Team Jah Bami”, the artist has infiltrated the reggae/dancehall arena with great feedback on his latest projects. Damian Marvin Walters known as Jah Bami to his fans, rose to fame in Trinidad and Tobago with his musical blend of Reggae and Soca.

Jah Bami‘s unique sound and personality has taken him around the world and back as a host for Viacom’s, MTV Caribbean network TEMPO. Weekly Jah Bami introduced trail blazers in the music and entertainment industries throughout the Caribbean into more than 5 million homes around the world, making him one of the most recognizable faces in the Caribbean today.

Jah Bami, trained to play and write music, he mastered instruments including the steelpan, guitar, piano, and drums, which later helped him organize full orchestra ensembles later on in life. At age 17 he earned himself a music scholarship at the University of the West Indies where he led his school to become School Panorama Champions.

Jah Bami also played with “Exodus Steel Orchestra” who was National Panorama Champions four years in a row. In 2000 he made his official move to New York, making Brooklyn his home. During his time in New York he began to embrace ‘Rastafari‘ and a Japanese label “Thello Entertainment‘ recognized his unique sound and (astonishing) performance style.

Thello Entertainment quickly invited him to join them on a year long Japanese tour alongside other reggae super stars including Wayne Wonder and Ky-Mani Marley. His Japanese fans supported his vision and ability to sound almost religious, birthed his name Jah Bami.

He continues to grow his success around the world producing chart topping hits in continuous rotation throughout the United States, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Due to its overwhelming weekly crowd support, the organisers of Bounty Sundaze have decided to move the event from Village Blues Bar, to a much larger venue in Club Riddim.

The decision was made approximately two weeks ago when the promoters saw that the ever-growing audience were finding it difficult to manoeuvre the limited space offered.

As of this and every Sundays after, the event will be held at Club Riddim (formerly The Building), a move which dancehall mogul Bounty Killer deemed inevitable.

“The reason for the change of venue is that the size of Village Blues Bar (located in Orchid Plaza) is kind of too small to accommodate the growing patrons. We already knew this but we were just looking something new and different when we moved from Lime to there,” he said in a release sent toTHE STAR.

He went on further to say that, “for the last three weeks people end up on the balcony due to the large turnout and limited space so we had no other choice than to relocate to the Building (Club Riddim), which is Jamaica’s number one dancehall club.”

A church service was held inside the club last Sunday afternoon in attempt, according to Bounty Killer, “to purge out stains left by certain individual who use to be in there”. The event will continue to be sponsored by Hennessy.

Though many would want to think that this is a form of partnership between the artiste and businessman Corey Todd, Bounty’s assistant Cross Chris, who also manages the Alliance Next Generation camp, made it clear that the initiative is of no such nature.

“This should be a plus in many ways as this is a more centralized venue with easier access for patrons.  It also allows more patrons to attend the event on Sunday nights. We are just happy to have Hennessy as our sponsor,” he said
